Wayne was born October 8, 1954 in Morgan City to the late Howard LaCoste, Sr. and the late Dorothy LeBlanc LaCoste and was one of six children born to that union. He was a hard worker and took care of and supported his family. Through the years he worked in the oilfield and the shrimping industry, and with Mr. Donnie Broussard’s lumber company in Erath. When not working, Wayne took advantage of the nature around him and spent time fishing and loving the outdoors.
His children shared his love of carpentry and mechanics. Wayne could build anything and fix everything without a problem. They also spoke of his love of a good cup of coffee, which he drank all hours of the day. He lived a simple life, yet filled with everything that brought him joy.
We will miss him, but we rejoice in knowing that he is not gone, only gone on before us and we will be reunited with him one day. Until that time, rest well in your eternal peace. We love you.
Those left to cherish his memory are his four children, Wayne LaCoste, Jr. (Tracey), Shashona Touchet (Neal), Dorothy LaCoste Abshire (Heath) and Logan LaCoste; his grandchildren, Aubrie LaCoste, Austin LaCoste, Jade LaCoste, Kamryn LaCoste, Valarie Stevens, Joey Stevens, Christian Touchet, Tytan Lafleur, Dawson LaFleur, Parker Abshire, Caylee LaCoste, Caide LaCoste, Riley Chapman, Cohlton LaCoste, Caeson LaCoste and Chloey LaCoste; two great grandchildren, Evelyn LaCoste and Halen Hayes; and his sisters and brother, JoAnn LaCoste (Clint), Linda Davis (Gary) and his twin brother, Wade LaCoste, Sr.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kerry LaCoste, Sr. and Howard LaCoste, Jr.; and sister in law, Deborah LaCoste.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
