

YEAGER, Carolyn G. passed away February 15, 2017 in St. Petersburg, FL at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Elmer R. Yeager. She was the daughter of Ella and Robert H. Glessner of Somerset County. Carolyn leaves behind her three children, Sandra Corneal of St. Augustine, FL, William E. Yeager of Atlanta and Mark R. Yeager of St. Petersburg, FL; her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn was born September 8, 1922 in Somerset County, PA. She graduated from Indiana University of PA (formerly Indiana State Teachers College) with a degree in Business. Her first teaching position was at the Milton S. Hershey School for Boys in Hershey, PA. In the following years, she taught in the Harrisburg Schools of John Harris, Susquehanna Township and Central Dauphin. Over the years, her students praised and thanked her for teaching them. Carolyn was active in the Paxton Presbyterian Church of Paxton, PA as a choir director and choir member and participated in her children's school activities whenever called upon. Her business education and her very strong musical background in piano and voice lead to a wide range of activities. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed taking care of her family. Pastimes of reading, playing the piano and organ, listening to music and doing crossword puzzles were a delight to her. A memorial service will be held on March 11, (her mother's birthday) at 1:00 pm at Beach Memorial Chapel on 301 Corey Avenue, St Pete Beach, FL. (727) 360-5577.
