Our beloved and beautiful matriarch, Frances Louise Casler, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 20, 2025, at HCA Florida Largo Hospital. A long-time resident of St. Petersburg, FL, she was born in New York on September 22, 1946, to the late Agatha Guaschino (Crocitto) and Joseph Guaschino.
She is survived by her devoted sons, Joseph and Steven, and her loving granddaughters, Ava and Dakota.
She was a graduate of Cliffside Park High School in Cliffside Park, NJ, spending many summers at Palisades Amusement Park where she made lifelong memories. Soon after high school, she married, had two sons, and moved to sunny Florida, where she spent most of the rest of her life except for living in New Orleans for a few years to be closer to Ava and Dakota.
“Nanny Franny,” as her granddaughters called her, was warm, loving, and compassionate. She loved to spend time with family and friends laughing and recounting tales of good times past. She worked at various places throughout her life, consistently bringing a positive attitude to her work environment. She always had a smile for her co-workers even on her hardest days. Her kindness touched countless hearts throughout her life.
Fran had a multitude of friends who she earnestly stayed in touch with. She enjoyed going to lunches with them, especially on the beach, and often lent a sympathetic ear in times of trouble. She genuinely loved and cared for her friends, regarding them as family.
The epitome of a tough cookie, she faced her health issues with a brave face and dogged determination. She fought hard and won on many occasions always grateful for the gift of continued life, which she lived for her family, friends, and pets, showering them with never ending love. We are all deeply saddened by our loss, but her light, love and spirit will live on in us forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Beach Memorial Chapel, 301 Corey Avenue, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 11:30 AM.
