Marie Kerr

Marie F. Kerr (age 89), a beloved daughter, spouse, mother, godmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, surrounded by her loving children and family members. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome (Jerry) Kerr, and her parents, Joseph and Grace (Scuderi) LiCausi. Besides her children Janet Kerr (Joseph Soares) and Doug Kerr (Denise Sutton), she is survived by her twin sister, Vita Carlos, sisters Jeanne Carabetta and Alberta Mignone, her brother Joseph LiCausi, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marie was born in Brooklyn, NY and worked in banking and later in retail (NYC and Long Island), developing and sharing with others a broad knowledge of fine china and collectibles. Upon retiring to Point Brittany in 1993, she enjoyed walks along the seawall and connecting with friends as they passed by. She was a member of the Point Brittany Social Committee, and one of her favorite pastimes included afternoon chats with her friends while poolside at the Point, “where there was always a warm breeze blowing”. Marie’s deep values and personal warmth led to many close friendships over the years, which she treasured.

A tribute and celebration of Marie’s life will take place to honor her and inspire others to remember her. In lieu of flowers, Marie would want family and friends to gather and recall fond memories.
