Barbara Anne Collier

Barbara Anne (Reeves) Collier, 67, passed away on July 24, 2024 after a ten-year battle with cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Meadows Place, TX, surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on June 9, 1957 in Jersey City, NJ, daughter to Kernan R. and Barbara T. (Sherry) Reeves.

Barbara moved to Texas at the age of 11 and graduated from Alief High School in 1976. About that time, she met and fell in love with a boy from East Texas. Barbara and Larry Collier married in 1977 when she was only 19 years old. They created a beautiful life together with their 2 children and 6 grandchildren. Her loving husband of 47 years tirelessly cared for her to the very end.

Known for her love for her family and friends, Barbara will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Barbara’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. We rejoice in knowing she will be reunited with those who have gone on before her.

Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Kernan R. Reeves, and her grandson, Augustus Young Beck. She is survived by her mother, Barbara T. Reeves, husband, Larry Y. Collier; daughter Christie Beck and husband, Griffin; son Michael Collier and wife, Catherine (Roberts), 5 beautiful granddaughters; her brother, Raymond Reeves and wife, Maria and her niece, Marisa Flores, her husband Ish, and their 2 children.

A rosary and mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on August 9, 2024. Rosary will be at 10:30, followed by mass at 11:00. The interment will be on August 10th at the Beech Creek (Collier Family) Cemetery in Spurger, Texas at 11:00am.
