

Eduardo was born in Dipolog City on September 27th, 1958. He graduated from Andres Bonifacio College with a degree in Criminology. He worked for the Philippine National Police for 12 years from 1981 to 1993. He worked as a patient care technician at MD Anderson Cancer Center on G12 Leukemia Specialty Unit. G12 was often referred to as his “second family”. This family bond that he had developed while working in the Leukemia Unit ultimately became his team of caretakers during his treatment and admissions. After 13 years of working at MD Anderson, Eduardo retired due to his health.
Eduardo was married to Merilyn Diaz for 35 years – who started work overseas in 1991 in hopes to continue building their family in The United States. Two years later, in August of 1993, Eduardo, along with his first 2 children, Edelyn and Canuto, relocated to Eagle Pass, TX, living together and reunited as a family. They then moved to McAllen, TX in 1994, of which his 3rd child, Kevin Diaz, was born the following year. Eduardo and his family moved to Stafford, TX in 2001.
From traditional Filipino meals to desserts, Eduardo loved to cook. “Biko”, is a specialty dessert he had perfected and is well-known for. He also enjoyed working on projects around the house and fishing. The sound of the waves and the smell of the ocean were reminiscent of his hometown in Dipolog City. He enjoyed going to Surfside even if it was just for a few hours. Of the many hobbies that brought him joy, ensuring the safety and wellness of his family was his ultimate passion.
Eduardo is survived by His wife, Merilyn Diaz, daughter Edelyn Diaz-Dorion, son in law, Hans Dorion, son, Canuto Diaz, daughter in law, Grace Diaz, son, Kevin Diaz, grandchildren, Alex, Aiden, and Isaiah, his loyal dog, Gizmo Diaz, and along with 2 brothers and 4 sisters whom reside in Dipolog City. Eduardo was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and a friend to everyone. He was known to bring light into the room with his positivity.
