Estaleeta Aleen McVay passed away peacefully on August 13, 2020. She was born August 13, 1939 in Timbo, Arkansas, to Omer and Pauline McVay. Her family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma in the early 1940's where her father worked in Oil Refinery Construction during World War II. She attended schools in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School. She married Charles Watson and their two children were born there. Later they moved to Wichita, Kansas then to Houston, Texas where they lived for the last 30+ years.
She was known for her kind and loving nature as well as her devotion to her family and friends. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her loved ones or even a stranger in need. Her generosity and warmth made her a joy to be around and she made a tremendous impact on those who knew her.
One of her biggest passions was caring for her pets. Each of her dogs was treated as though they were one of her children. She had a soft spot for all animals and frequently gave to pet adoption charities.
She worked as an administrative assistant for Fred Levine for over 50 years in Wichita and Houston. She took a great deal of pride in her work and was committed to giving her best to her job each day. Her career brought her a great deal of personal satisfaction and came second only to her dedication to God and family.
She faithfully attended Assembly of God Churches. In Houston, she attended the Faith Assembly of God Church for many years. In 2000 she was able to travel to Israel, a trip she cherished the remainder of her life.
She is survived by her brothers, Harlan McVay and Leland McVay and wife Debra; son Rick Watson and wife Sheilah; daughter Conda Blackburn and husband Martin; granddaughter Lindsay Morgan, grandson Craig Ruffin, great grandchildren Makayla Mosley, Brianna Morgan, Nolan Ruffin, Cameron Ruffin, Owen Ruffin, and Ian Ruffin; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Charles Watson.
