Leroy Banks III was called home on October 3rd, 2021 in Houston, Texas at the age of 56. Leroy was born on November 10, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio to Dorothy Cook and Leroy Banks II. He is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Banks II, his daughter Felicia Banks and grandparents Minnie B. and Leroy Banks Sr.

Leroy is survived by wife Jacqueline Banks; children Alicia, Lotus, Drayton, Dexavien Banks; mother Dorothy Cook; granddaughters, Ariel and Essence; sister Laura Starks and brother in law Kevin, along with numerous other families members, extended family members and friends.

Leroy Banks always has had a smile for everybody as bright as the sun. He was friendly and goofy, He never met a stranger. He made a friend out of almost everyone he ever met. He loved to make people laugh, especially himself. He definitely thought he was a comedian. He loved his wife: ”JACKIE!!!” and his children, his friends and Bob Marley. He was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan. He was also an expert hot-sauce maker (in his own mind). He served in the U.S. Army honorably. C.C. Rock! Always in our hearts. Until we meet again. Fly high Leroy Banks!

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 13th from 10:00 am-Noon at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home with a service beginning at Noon, with a reception to follow in the funeral home’s event center. A formal procession will leave Earthman Southwest Funeral Home at 8:30 am on Thursday, October 14th towards Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Graveside services with military honors will take place at 9:30 am.

I worked at the dialysis clinic where Leroy was a patient. He was always very friendly and liked to joke around. He brought two newspapers every time he came and did the crosswords and other puzzles. He always had tons of candy and a coffee. He gave me some green tomatoes once and I fried them and gave him some. I kept asking him when can I get more tomatoes! He will be missed, prayers and thoughts for Jackie and the family.

Momma's boy Leroy!!! There has never been a brother and sister on earth more different than you and I.. you got on my LAST nerve. One thing for ,sure you knew you could count on your sister. I would rather have you here , being a smart ass than resting in heaven. Life will be different, maybe even harder for your family, but I know God is good, kids are resilient, and Jackie, Alecia and Dot are strong. I WILL MAKE SURE YOUT FAMILY IS OK... I just wish I could ease their pain. TARA told me you came to her and said tell my MEAN sister I love her...rolling my eyes at you lol. Until we meet again.... stay tuned for all the good thing I have in store for the fam.. ❤ love your lil sis, Laura

It was with great sorrow the news of your parting, but then I smiled when I thought, heaven will not be the same because “Blackhead” Roddren Harrison and you are together again.
Rest now, you’ve fought the good fight. Your rewards are many!
All our lives are richer because you passed through. We’ll see you on the other side.

Fondly remembering Leroy when he was a child coming to New York visiting and especially when the late ‘Uncle Bobby’ took the boys including my son on a camping trip. My son was mischievous but I was told that Leroy got him together on that camping trip.
Prayers going out to the family, and especially to his mom because I know that there is not a word that can describe how a mother feels when she has to bury her child. May God continue to keep His loving arms around the entire family as I do know Him as a Comforter.
