She raised her children mostly as a single mother and provided for them throughout their childhood and was always there for them even as adults.
Lola’s career was mostly spent working with children from preschool to elementary. She served as a teacher’s assistant and ended her career as the lead for the school’s cafeteria where she ran a tight ship. Lola was so well loved that frequently children, would call her mom or ask for her to be their mom because she showed compassion and always had an active listening ear.
Lola departed this life on March 9, 2025, after a long health struggle to be with her heavenly Father whom she called upon through her victories and struggles. She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandchild Bridget Dubose. Lola leaves to mourn her passing her children Ola Carpenter, Patricia Williams and Son-In-Law Joseph Williams, Jessie Carpenter Jr., Renee Craig and Son-In-Law Juan Craig, grandson Justin Craig, granddaughter Songreta Carpenter, great-grandchild Jade Fields and her great-great grandchild Delilah Fields. Also, a host of family members near and far.
Lola’s journey with life’s ups and downs well-seasoned her throughout her time on this earth as a loving, sometime feisty (remember her saying “What Lola Wants, Lola Gets) strong woman. She loved singing and listening to Christian hymns. She always said it was her God given gift of reaching out to people in need. She was known for her willingness to offer and to listen to a problem or revel in a joyful celebration. She will be missed by all who loved her and were fortunate enough to spend time in her company.
