Patricia Ansel

Patricia Anne Sammons Ansel died in her home in Sugar Land, Texas, surrounded by family and friends, on September 28, 2017. Anne's death followed a multi-year battle with pancreatic cancer, which Anne fought with endless patience, grace, and humor. She is survived by her husband, Casey Alan Ansel; her sons Chance and Adam Ansel; her daughters-in-law, Jessica Ansel and Shirley Ansel; her four grandchildren, June and Mayla Ansel, and Liam and Luke Ansel; her father, John Philip Sammons; and her two sisters, Mary Kathryn Sammons and Bernice King. Anne was preceded in death by her mother, Diane Sammons, and her sisters, Terese Maynard and Sharon Sammons.

Anne was born in El Paso, Texas, but spent much of her childhood in Huntington Beach, California. She moved with her family to Stafford, Texas in 1972, and graduated from Dulles High School in in 1977. Anne and Casey began dating in high school and married in 1982. Following high school, Anne proudly worked for Hewlett-Packard Co. for many years. Since 1993, she and Casey have owned and grown a family business, Republic Battery Co., in Houston, Texas.

Anne was deeply loved, as a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. For her part, Anne cherished those who loved her. Over the years, she and Casey hosted endless celebrations of family and friendship in their home-celebrations filled with good food, good music, and Anne's infectious laughter. In the end, however, Anne's greatest pleasure was simply being with her children and grandchildren. Their joy, laughter, kisses, and endless support gave Anne the strength and desire to keep fighting cancer past all odds.

A memorial service to remember, honor and celebrate her life and indomitable spirit will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 23, 2017, at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, 12555 S. Kirkwood Road, Stafford, Texas 77477. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Anne's name to Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research.

The service will be followed by a reception at Anne and Casey's home, 410 Oyster Creek Drive, Sugar Land, Texas 77478.
