 Obituario de Belinda Karen Taylor
Belinda Karen Taylor was granted her angel wings on February 6, 2020 after being a 16 year cancer survivor. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Charlie and Laurine Brewer, of East Hartford, Connecticut in 1958, she was the fourth of five children. Her Dad sometimes referred to her as “Louie” as he had always imagined that his next child would be a boy; although blessed with another beautiful daughter. Belinda graduated from: George J Penney High School; the University of New Haven in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Data Processing, Magna Cum Laude. She also attended the University of Maryland where she completed coursework towards a Masters in Management Information Systems. She joined the Army in 1977 where she specialized in computer technology and programming before being Honorably Discharged in 1990. She received several medals and commendations, including The Army Achievement Medal. For the last 20 years, she worked as a Database Expert and Manager for Technology Services for George Mason University’s Information Technology Department. She and her Team were responsible for maintenance and reliability of the data and infrastructure used by Administrators, Teachers and Students. She leaves a Team that respected her dedication; appreciated her fairness; and valued her knowledge/expertise and hard work. She shared a profound love, with many of her friends, for Korean Pop music and various drama shows of Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Cambodian origin. With her deep respect and newfound love of culture, she made friends across the US and around the world. As someone who loved to write blogs, she was well respected as an honest and prolific critic of multicultural films, music, and art. She would even travel across the US and Canada to enjoy a special live performance of her favorite artists and then share a critique with her friends on-line. Her blogs had many devoted followers. Her favorite times were during adventures taken with her daughters while white water rafting in California, Colorado and Massachusetts or attending movies and concerts with their favorite artists. As a quiet spirit, Belinda showed her love in different ways by being supportive of her daughters and their many endeavors. She had a comedic honesty of how to endure life without her in it. While that reality came much sooner than her family and friends expected, Belinda persevered until she knew her affairs were in order and that her daughters would be taken care of. Belinda did not live long enough to have grandchildren in her life, but, the furry kind made up for that. Over the years, the Taylor household had been taken over by 4 cats and 1 dog; Sammy, Spooky 1, Spooky 2, Sasha and Peppy. She is predeceased by her parents, Charlie and Laurine Brewer, her Brother Ervin Brewer, and her Sister Sheila Brewer. She leaves behind her Sister Shirley Brewer Burgess and Brother Charles “Wade” Brewer, loving Daughters Brianna Taylor and Tamika Taylor. In addition, her Nieces Tishawna Colander, Rachel Brewer, and Lydia Brewer. As well, Nephews Alonzo Brewer and Brinden McGowan and great Nieces Caidence and Charli Colander. Belinda will forever be within the hearts of family and friends, she will forever rest peacefully. Loving, laughing, and living with us...always. In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to her long-time favorite Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Light The Night www.Lightthenight.org The family wishes to thank all family and friends for their love and support to our family and our Dear Belinda Karen Taylor.
