Dan was born April 28, 1964 in Alliance, Ohio to Sharon and Danny Crawford Sr. Dan grew up in the Canton, Ohio area. He graduated from THE Ohio State University and always rooted for his Buckeyes. While living in Ohio, Dan volunteered for the Columbus Zoo as a seasonal zoo keeper. He also taught outdoor education courses at Nature’s Classroom. He was a substitute teacher in Ohio before moving to Virginia.
Mr. Crawford taught science at King George High School before moving to Stafford County. There he taught Earth Science, Geology, and Oceanography at North Stafford High School for 15 years. It was at North Stafford that he met his wife Meghan, a fellow science teacher. They were married July 30, 2016. Dan retired from teaching at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. He was inspired to be a science teacher by Mr. Spock on Star Trek.
When he wasn’t teaching science, Dan was a Tae Kwon Do Master and held classes at various locations. He enjoyed being social and loved to travel. Dan fulfilled an item on his bucket list in 2017 by running up the Rocky Steps in Philadelphia. He was a huge fan of the DC Comics (but would admit that Marvel made better movies).
He is survived by his wife, Meghan; his mother, Sharon Lucas; his brothers, Michael Crawford, Shawn Crawford, Travis (Jacy) Bolin, and Tony (Jordan) Bolin; his sister, Angie (Shane) Frazier; and 8 nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Danny Crawford Sr,; his cousin, Amy; and his grandparents.

A visitation for Dan will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554.
