

Born November 24, 1985, at Camp Lejeune, NC, David was a proud “military brat”. He grew up moving with his family often, and spent time at Camp Lejeune, Camp Pendleton CA, Okinawa Japan, and Quantico VA. Extremely outgoing and athletic, he played soccer and hockey as a youth and ran on the Varsity Cross Country team at Quantico High School as an 8th grader.
He attended Colonial Forge H.S. in Stafford, VA from 10th grade to graduation in 2003, and met the love of his life, Christine Gillette, from Lake Arrowhead, while working as a cashier at Food Lion. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2006 and left for boot camp at Parris Island SC just days after his 21st birthday. He and Christine married on August 21, 2007 in Pensacola FL, while he was attending his first service school. David served at multiple duty stations, Coronado, Camp Pendleton, and Miramar Naval Air Station in California before deploying to Afghanistan from September, 2010 through February, 2011. He was honorably discharged as a Cpl in November of 2011. He is the recipient of the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 1 bronze star, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, and Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal.
After completing his military service in 2011, he and Christine settled in Vista CA before moving to Tucson, AZ in 2018 where they purchased their first newly built home. He worked for Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson as a Maintenance Lead Technician.
David will be remembered for his contagious sense of humor, infectious laugh, integrity, and overwhelming love for his wife and family. He always went out of his way to help anyone whenever they needed it. He and Christine were avid fans of the Washington Capitals, and he enjoyed fishing, cooking, and working on his cars, making them his very own.
David Is predeceased by both sets of his grandparents and uncles Mark and Steven Woggermon and Robert Gavin Rowan. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Christine, his parents, SSgt David and MSgt Virginia Rowan (both USMC retired) of Stafford VA, his loving brother Jonnathan of Radford VA, and wonderful in-laws Jack and Ollie Gillette of Show Low AZ. Additionally, he leaves behind his brothers-in- law, Jeremy, Gary Jr. and Matthew Gillette of Stafford VA, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his and Christine’s 6 much-loved dogs.
A memorial service will be at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, VA. Following the service, internment will be at Quantico National Cemetery with a reception afterwards at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 262 Eustice Rd., Stafford VA.
