Born in 1927 and raised in Lowell, MA, she moved to Washington DC in her mid twenties where she worked for the Department of Defense. There she met and married Walter Abbott, who was there stationed in the Army. For the first ten years of their marriage they moved to ten different places for Walt’s service and had five children - sons Walter, Wray & Wayne (twins), William, and a daughter, Wendy.
Wherever she lived she was involved in school, neighborhood, and social activities, even becoming a master gardener. One of the most resilient and hardest working women you’ll ever meet. An inspiration for all of us, we were blessed to have her for as long as we did.
She is survived by her son, Wayne, and daughter, Wendy.
