She was born December 28, 1938.
Gertrude was the loving wife of the late Eladio E. Martinez, who passed in 2010.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Eladio E. Martinez Jr., of Richmond, VA, Ernest E. Martinez of Stafford, VA, and Miguel "Mike" S. Martinez of Palmetto, FL.; and her daughter, Pilar (Lori) Gillette of Palmetto FL.
She will also be greatly missed by her 11 Grandchildren and her 13 Great Grandchildren.
Gertrude served her country in the US Army for 3 years and then continued to serve her country with the US Government, working for the United States Information Agency for over 25 years. She then retired to enjoy her family.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a great grandmother. Her family meant everything to her.
A visitation for Mrs. Martinez will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel.
Her celebration of life will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the funeral home.
She will be interned at Quantico National Cemetery.
