She was a longtime member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, working with children and playing the piano.
Gloria also owned her own business “Thulka Kennels” where she groomed, boarded, trained and showed dogs at dog shows.
Mrs. Martin retired from the U.S Government as a videographer.
In her free time she enjoyed having fun with her Red Hat group “His girls in purple threads”.
She was preceded in death by her father, George F. Homes; her mother, Gertrude R. Homes; and her son, George R. Martin
Gloria is survived by her sister, Shirley H. Jones of Stafford; her son, Stephen R. Martin (Maryann) of Stafford, Maureen R. Lester (Scott) of Stafford; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
A visitation for Gloria will be held Monday, February 17, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel.
Her celebration of life will occur Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at The Mount Church, 1112 Garrisonville Rd, Stafford, VA. with her burial to follow at the church cemetery.
