Hazel Terry

Hazel is survived by her son, Gregory Scott Terry (Shirin) and their daughter, Jasmine Terry; her daughter, Darlene Terry “Susie” and her son, Tyler Terry; her daughter, Annette Shelton (William Shelton III), and their children, William Shelton IV (Lauren), Luke Shelton (Alison); her daughter Wendi Terry, and her daughter, Katelynn Segar, fiancé Nathan Jones; her sister, Elizabeth Vaughn; and her beloved dog Presley.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James Terry; her father, Wilber Davis; her mother, Mildred Davis; her brother, Elwood Davis and her sister, Linda Davis.

Hazel Virginia Terry, born November 25, 1948, was sent to her eternal home March 29, 2025. Hazel was a country girl from West Virginia who met the love of her life, James Terry, who also was from West Virginia at his employment in Woodbridge, Va.

She was well known throughout Stafford County as she was a bus driver for 44 years. She drove several generations of children and was the first bus driver in Stafford County to obtain a bus with air conditioning. She was affectionately known as Ms. Hazel. You could not go to any store without running into one of her children that she had as a passenger on her bus. When she wasn’t driving, she loved spending time with her grandkids and supporting them at their sporting events. She loved God, her family, Elvis, and her Shih tzu Presley whom she took everywhere. She loved going on vacations and living today as if it were her last. Hazel had the most beautiful blue eyes and a contagious smile. She shall be remembered by her kind heart, strength, and her will to fight.

A visitation for Hazel will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554. A burial will occur Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Andrew Chapel Cemetery, Andrew Chapel Rd., Stafford, VA.
