Helen Teresa Lewis

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Dean Martin Lewis Sr; her three sons, Dean Lewis Jr., Cavin Lewis (Claudia), and Gary Lewis (Amanda); and her 3 beautiful grandchildren.

Helen will also be greatly missed by her two brothers, Ricky Hathcock and Buster “Buzzy” Hathcock (his wife); and her sister, Karen Spears (Rick).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Eleanor Hathcock; and her two sisters, Frances “Frannie” Burn and Sandy Humphries.

She always went above and beyond when celebrating birthdays and demonstrated enthusiasm when cheering on her kids and grandkids from the sidelines. You could often find her sitting on the back porch watching hummingbirds, sipping on a Pepsi, or having friendly chats with neighbors on her daily walks with Bella.

Teresa truly had a magic touch when it came to decorating for every holiday and season of the year. During the holidays her favorite things to do include watching the Hallmark Channel and shopping for thoughtful Christmas gifts for her loved ones. You could always count on her to be ready to dye eggs, make gingerbread houses, and provide festive accessories for every occasion. Her heart was full when she had a house-full of family and friends celebrating and reconnecting.

Teresa was a selfless yet extraordinary woman. She found happiness in spending time outdoors gardening, devoting her time to decorate for the holidays, and putting smiles on the faces of others. Her energy and joyful nature lit up the room and is just a small portion of how she touched the hearts of so many.

Spending quality time with her family and friends was one way she shared her love. She will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who knew her.

A visitation for Helen will be held Monday, September 18, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 AM.
