He is survived by his wife, Oya Oliver; his son, Wesley Oliver; his brother, Charles Oliver; his sister, Florance Shifflet; his grandchildren; Alexander, Emma, Noah, and Brooke; his daughter in law, Sheila Oliver Knapp and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents, Marrion and Stella Oliver; his son, Allen Oliver; his brothers, Marrion Oliver Jr. and James Oliver and his sister, Naomi Hensel.
Mr. Oliver served in the United States Army for 21 years. He deployed 11 times, all over the world. After being retired for 15 years he was called back to report for Desert Storm. He was a Communications Specialist. His favorite place was Thailand.
After retiring from the military, Mr. Oliver retired from driving a truck after 18 years and went on to deliver food for the food bank for another 11 years.
He was a member of the Shriners, Masons and the VFW Post #3103.
Herbert enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping and traveling. He never met a stranger. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
