

Linda was born May 3rd, 1938 in Glen White, WV to Margie Mae (Beasley) and Lacy Andrew Milam.
She spent her early years in Surveyor, WV where she graduated from Trap Hill High School in 1956 with honors. She moved to Northern VA in 1959 and began a career with the Federal Government where she worked 35 years at the Pentagon. She was married in 1965 to Ronald Lewis Altstaetter and gave birth to one son, Richard Alan Altstaetter. Since her retirement in 2000, she has enjoyed a fulfilled life attending her grandchildren's sports games and travelling to all 50 states.
Linda was always known for a big smile, caring heart, and putting others before herself. She loved spending time with family and friends and volunteering at the American Legion post 290. Linda was a central person in both her family and community and she will be truly missed.
Linda's faith has always been deeply rooted. Her last two quotes in her final days were "live life by being happy" and "God is calling me".
Linda is survived by her husband Ronald, son Richard & wife Mary, step daughter Diana Godfrey, Brother Ron Milam & family, sister Loretta (Milam) Mathews & family, grandchildren Sydney & Derek Altstaetter, 4 grandchildren by marriage, 4 great grandchildren by marriage with one on the way.
A visitation for Mrs. Altstaetter will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, VA.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the funeral home with her interment to follow.
Invited guests may attend a Celebration of Life after the funeral services at The American Legion Post 290, 1151 Mountain View Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22406.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 290 (Ladies).
