She was born on December 31, 1934 in Chilhowie, Virginia the daughter of the late Clarence A. and Bertha Mae (Hutton) Peak.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Tate, Sr; son, Robert; daughter Brenda; grandchildren, Mark, Christina, LeeAnn.
Survivors include her son, James W. “Jimmy” Tate (Dawn) of Baltimore, MD; five daughters, Debbie Perry of Arkansas, Patricia Porteous (Chris) of California, Cathy Munden of California, Kimberly Perez (Alfredo) of California, Stacey Perryman (Rob) of Stafford, VA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 9:00-10:00am where a funeral service will be held at 10:00am with Rev. John Hodgen officiating. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA.
