Michael Gus Carpenter

He was born on May 24, 1949 in Rogersville, Tennessee. He served in the US Marine Corps retiring at the rank of Sergeant Major.

He was predeceased by his parents Marion H. Carpenter and Barbara J. (Trent) Carpenter.

He is survived by his close friends, William and Marge Erisman of Stafford, Virginia.

Michael joined the Marines in 1968 and achieved the rank of Sgt Major and retired in 1998. He owned and operated Marine Clean for many years in the Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg and Stafford region. He then did security work for various government agencies from Huntsville, AL to Fort Drum, NY. He returned to Stafford and supervised the facility support services group as a government contractor in Arlington, VA.

Michael loved hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and every one of his beloved pet dogs and cats.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford, Virginia with Rev. John Hodgen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment with military honors will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico at 1:00pm.
