10, 2025, after a swift battle with cancer. Mike's life was one of service, love, and devotion to his family,
community, and passions.
He was born February 12, 1952, in Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. Mike dedicated over 20 years of his life to public service as a Federal Firefighter, where his skill and leadership led him to the rank of Captain and later Fire Marshal. Beyond his federal service, he was a proud Life Member of Stafford County Fire Department Company 2, where he extended his commitment
to the safety and well-being of others in his community.
Mike had a natural talent and love for building things. A true craftsman, he poured his creativity and skill
into his projects. His adventurous spirit also found joy in traveling and the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle.
Above all, Mike was a family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Eddy, with whom he shared
an extraordinary 53-year marriage. Their love story began when they met at the tender age of 14, blossoming into a partnership filled with enduring love and cherished memories. Mike also leaves behind his children: sons, Chris Eddy (and fiancée Kim), Brian Eddy, and daughter Jamie Dedman. His legacy lives on in his 8 adoring grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mike is also survived by his sister, Patty Hedgepeth and her husband, Clyde; his sister, Judy Boyce; his
brother-in-law, Jim Hartzel and wife Cindy; and his mother-in-law, Anne Hartzel. Among his family, his beloved pet Kona held a special place in his heart as a loyal companion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Irene Eddy; his brother, Jim Eddy; and his grandparents, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.
Michael Curtis Eddy will be remembered as a man of unwavering dedication, quiet strength, and boundless love for his family and community. His impact will live on in the lives he touched and the
memories he leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Mike. Your legacy of service, craftsmanship, and love will forever be cherished.
