

He was a highly decorated retired 1st Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps with 26 years of dedicated service. He served in China prior to the Chinese Revolution, fought at the Chosin Reservoir Campaign in Korea with the 1st Marine Division and served several tours during the Vietnam Conflict.
Mr. Dopf was an outdoors man: a fisherman, hunter, and gardener. He enjoyed playing the piano as a young man and relished listening to classical and contemporary music.
Mr. Dopf is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret; daughter, Mary Anne Spinella (Ed); brother, George Dopf (Jean); sister, Elizabeth Durig; both of Dayton Ohio, three grandchildren, Bryhannon, Edmund Joseph Raymond, and Caroline, plus "Poppy's pups" Lucy and Stacy all of Stafford.
A Visitation and funeral service will be held at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, in Stafford Virginia on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Visitation is 12-1:00 with the service immediately following. Burial will be at a later date in the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
In tribute to the sacrifices made at the Reservoir alongside his fellow Marines (The Chosin Few) and throughout his life, "Stay warm brother".
