When I think of Ricky, I think of a pretty much self-made man a lot like daddy, who could fix or build anything, but he was not afraid to get in the kitchen, and he loved to cook for a group of people, and he was good at it. he was selfless, he was humble. He had a great sense of humor, he was but it’s the same time of wisdom. I miss him terribly and I hope that Katie and the kids will be able to handle this appropriately. Love, Cindi.

My condolences to the Bowers family,  You have my deepest sympathy. I wish you peace, comfort and courage and my heart goes out to you at this difficult time. Ricky was always a joy to speak with especially around summer vacation time. He would always make a point to ask me if I had a beach trip planned and would advise me on the best places to go eat and fish and would always ask how the trip went upon return. He will truly be missed.  Thank you for sharing him with us.

God blessed us with a great man that filled all of his responsabilaties. Husband, father and friend.  Ricky took advantage of every moment to make us better!  We were more than coworkers because he made us all family. He supported everyone so that we all were successful at whatever our missions were. I thank God for letting me expirience his kindness and hearing funny stories about moving Amanda and seeing firsthand how proud he was to work side by side with Sam. Hearing the stories of taking Katie and some of your girl friends out on the boat and family vacations not to mention cooking for everyone. He LOVED IT!  Thank you for sharing him with us to provide his awesome creativity, for over fort-two years, in our Nations Defense.  We're all better because of him.  God bless you all!

I've always thought of Ricky as my brother, as he teased just like my own. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix or invent when he put his mind to it.  I mean how many can carve a wooden ball inside a wooden cage? A big shout out to his colleagues for sharing the pics and stories of the interrogation arm. That makes him a hero in my book along with the rest of you who worked with him.
   Any time spent with Ricky was always accompanied with food. Our crab feast get togethers were epic and always a favorite to us all. 
I spent many days out on the boat, with family and friends, just floating in the water, again with so much food and drink packed into coolers to feed an army.
  To know Rick was too love him. There are no words that can soothe. It's the memories and the hugs that may ease some of the pain.

Ricky Bowers ~ there are so many wonderful, positive words that describe him.  Although it is difficult knowing where to begin, his unparalleled love and care of Katie, his kids and family are foremost.  As his Aunt Pat, I can tell you, Ricky did many remarkably kind and generous things, quietly and behind the scenes as he wasn’t one that sought attention.  
 
It is nearly impossible to say “Ricky" without including "Katie" as they were “one” and the happiest couple I've ever known.  And, they shared their love and happiness with family and friends … boating days, cookouts, cook-ins, crab feasts … so many fun memories.  And, during cloudy times, they were both there to help, love and support me .. and any others that needed special attention.

Years ago when my sister was very ill and on a ventilator she scribbled a note addressed to RICKY BOWERS, asking him to bring a ladder in his red truck to rescue her from the hospital.  She knew if there was any way to get ‘er done, he'd do it.  Since then, I could never call him "Ricky" .. it was always "Ricky Bowers".

RIP my dear Ricky Bowers.  I love and miss you dearly.   Auntie P

I will always cherish the memories of many fishing trips, and friendship gatherings with Rick. He was a such a great guy, role model and genuine friend gone too soon. Sending healing prayers and deepest condolences to Katie, Sammy and Amanda. He will always be in our hearts.


Deeply saddened to hear that Ricky has passed. His level of mentorship is something that is rarely seen these days. 

I had the pleasure of working for him from 2015 to 2019, and am forever thankful for the knowledge and camaraderie he shared with us during that time. I was rare that he didn’t greet me with encouragement and a smile when I walked through the door every morning.

He will be greatly missed by those who he impacted. My sincere condolences to the Bowers family.

I will miss Ricky.  He was a true hero for his work at Night Vision.  Many warfighters are alive today because of his skill and hard work.


Katie, I can't begin to say how sorry I am about Ricky.  My heart goes out to you, Amanda & Sam.  Ricky was a genuinely smart, nice guy with a good sense of humor--I'll always remember his 'theory' about young girls & braces.  I admired how he could make just about anything he put his mind to.  I know he'll be terribly missed by all who knew him.  You are all in my thoughts & prayers.

I worked with Ricky since 2002. He was the epitomey of professionalism and dedication. We shared many conversations on work as well as family and life after work.  Ricky’s contribution to the warfighters was outstanding and contributed to the success of many important missions. We lost a great worker and friend. You lost a husband, father, and confidant. Please accept my condolences and know that  I’m praying for the repose of his soul and for comfort for the family during your period of mourning. 

So sorry for your loss Katie, Amanda, Sam and family. Rick was the best of the best and will be missed.  If you look up the word “friend” in the dictionary, his picture should be there.  Rick loved to spend time with his amazing family and he made us friends feel like family too.  He was ALWAYS the first one to offer help, an encouraging affirmation, or to just be real when there was chaos. So many fantastic memories of trips, dinners, excursions, sports, boating trips, and just relaxing fun.   Rick loved to create and fix things…we all put on extra pounds enjoying his passion of cooking and tipping back a Modelo or two.  There was no better man and he will be missed like no other.

My heart is breaking for your family.  I don't know what else to say.  I am just so sorry.

Knew Ricky for 20 years but had the privilege of working with him everyday for the last 5 years.  I will always remember our trips for work and fun times we had.  Ricky was true friend someone you could always count on.  Work will not be the same with out him. He will be greatly missed. 

I am very sorry to hear of Ricky's passing.  I had the honor of working with him from 2017-2018 and enjoyed our lunch break chats about fishing, boats, cars, and the daily Price is Right episodes.  He was a very good mentor to the young men in the shop, and will be missed greatly.

One of the many things Ricky did well was cook! He even built his own smoker to prepare a whole pig for all of us when we were visiting…but my favorite meal was when he made breakfast.. for 20 people…fried potatoes were the best! Along with biscuits,bacon, eggs, fresh fruit…delicious!
