 Obituario de Ruth Putnam Maxwell
On Saturday, July 27, 2019 Ruth Maxwell lost her battle with ovarian cancer in the loving arms of her husband, Scott Maxwell and went into the arms of our Lord. She was 49 years young. She was just that, young at heart. Ruth loved life. Whether she was quietly reading her favorite books or sitting to chat with friends and family, Ruth soaked up life’s little moments. She and her husband Scott enjoyed many trips and good times together from skiing in West Virginia to fishing off their dock, beach vacations to Myrtle Beach and trips to the farm in Millboro. And anyone that knows Ruth knows how much she loved cheering on her Dallas Cowboys while sipping a cold beer. Ruth was a Virginia girl, raised by her father, Charles Putnam Jr. and mother, Dorothy (Orrell) Putnam, who predeceased her. She leaves behind her brothers Bobby Bollinger, Roy Bollinger, Tom Bollinger, and her husband, Scott Maxwell. She also leaves behind brother-in-law Ronald Maxwell and wife, Amber; brother-in-law Gary Maxwell; sister-in-law Rhonda Normandin, brother-in-law Chris Maxwell and wife, Jennifer; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth leaves behind lifelong friends Trudy Deyo, Tiffany King, Jessie Bishop and parents, Glen and Sandy Bishop, along with Rob and Sarah Moffett, and children Taylor and Robert. Ruth grew up in Millboro, Virginia before the family relocated to Stafford where she graduated from North Stafford High School in 1988. Afterwards, she worked for various defense contractors before supporting Scott with his contracting business and nannying for the Moffett family helping to care for their children, Taylor and Robert. Of all the things in this life, Ruth treasured being with Scott and their dogs. She fought every day to stay with them. She was a strong Christian who believed there was nothing God couldn’t handle. “Pray for me,” she’d say. She would want to be remembered with love and laughter, living life to the fullest. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Ruth’s life on Friday, August 9, 2019 in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 1112 Garrisonville Road, at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. Honor Ruth’s legacy with a donation in her memory to T.E.A.L.
