

Shandra Marie Cammack Hardy was born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 25, 1967 to Norris and Laverna Cammack. Her journey came to a close on Sunday February 9, 2025 at home surrounded by her closest loved ones. She fought an amazing fight.
Shandra was raised in New Bern , North Carolina with both her parents. She graduated from New Bern High School and the Illustrious Winston- Salem State University where she majored in Communications. Shandra spent the majority of her career serving alongside the military for almost twenty years. During this time, she also became a published author.
Shandra was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend known for her genuine heart and willingness to help anyone in need. She was also known for how much she loved and stood behind her family through all things. Her faith and dedication to the Lord was always evident. She lived a life rooted in love, faith, and service, always demonstrating kindness and strength to those around her. Shandra’s heart was with her grandchildren whom she cherished deeply. They were her greatest joy and she found fulfillment in nurturing, guiding, and loving them unconditionally. Her legacy of love, and wisdom will live through them as she poured her heart in every moment she spent with them.
She is survived by her husband, James Edward Hardy Jr.; two children, Ashanti Marie Hardy of Stafford, VA and James Edward Hardy III ( Abiba) of Elgin, SC; Her mother Laverna Cammack of Stafford, VA; her sister Charmaine Trice (Craig) of Edgewood, MD; two sisters in love, Ora Hardy of Forestville, MD and Katherine Hardy of Waldorf, MD; five beautiful grandchildren, Ezra Jerimyah Hardy, A’Zari James Hardy, Elliyah Djatou Hardy, Ezekyel Xiyah Hardy, and Noél Marie Hardy; five nephews; Craig Anthony Trice Jr., Corey Leonard Trice, Courtney Revon Trice of Baltimore, Maryland, Avion Delonte Hardy of Manassas, Cuttino Porter of Forestville, MD; three God Children, Kyree Anthony Trice of Edgewood, MD, Jazmine Shiku Moore of Reston, VA, Zoë Jolicia Crenshaw of Oceanside, CA; and a myriad of of amazing friends and family.
A visitation for Shandra will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at UFCM Church Auxiliary Building, 150 Susa Dr., Stafford, VA, followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
