Sherry Lee Thompson

On Sunday March 24th, 2024, Sherry Lee Thompson passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. Sherry was born on October 25th, 1953, and has resided in Fredericksburg, VA with her beloved husband, Lawrence Thompson, for over 30 years.

Sherry was predeceased by her father, Melvin Etter Sr. and her mother, Frances Etter.

She is survived by her husband Lawrence Thompson, sister; Robin Hamilton, brother; Melvin Etter Jr., sister; Teresa Hebert, and brother; Roy Etter. She leaves behind her two daughters: Rushella Waters and Ann Buchanan and husband, Travis Buchanan. As well as her two grandchildren; Aaron Ryan, and Evie Waters.

Sherry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and beloved friend to all. Everyone who knew Sherry knew that she was an extremely kind and gentle person that loved her family very much. Sherry enjoyed life and loved to dance. Sherry loved to go camping, play cards, and spend time with her family.

She grew up in Alexandria Virginia, relocating to Fredericksburg, Va in the early 80’s. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University in Behavioral Science and began her journey working with children and adults. She worked with RACSB where she served the local community helping others.

Please join us on April 13th, 2024, at Antioch United Methodist Church at 1 pm, where the family will be holding a Celebration of Life. Service will begin at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow.
