

He was born April 9, 1936 in Hoges Chapel, VA son of the late George Kemper and Ercel Sykes Williams and preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters: Ralph Williams, wife Mary, Madeline Hall, husband Bentley, Kemper Williams, Kathryn Booth, husband Landon (Red), Laura Williams, Helen Cuffel, Sherman Williams (Buddy), wife Jeanette, and George Williams.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Sonny worked for the FBI 33 years as a fingerprint specialist and part of the disaster team. He loved sports, playing football, basketball, and baseball in his younger years. He continued that love of sports throughout his life, playing softball for the FBI team and basketball in a church league. As the years progressed, he migrated to golf, coaching his sons from the stands, and rooting for his favorite teams one of them being, Virginia Cavaliers. He also loved hunting and fishing with his favorite passion being an avid gardener.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy June (Hill) Williams; five children, Randall Williams (Holly) of Belhaven, NC; Karen Chekonik of Dumfries, VA; Baron Williams (Elizabeth) of Woodbridge, VA; Jeffery Williams of Stafford, VA; and Beverly (Williams) Wybersky (Stanley) of Heathsville, VA; eleven grandchildren: Bryan Rebel (Michelle), Jason Rebel (Taylor), Matthew Williams (Taylor), Steven Williams, Michael Williams, Brandon Lusk (Elizabeth), Ashley (Wybersky) Boulanger (Etienne), Grace Williams (Brendan), Brandy Wybersky, Taylor Chekonik, and James Williams.
Sonny will also be greatly missed by his nine great grandchildren: Brady Rebel, Austin Rebel, Zachary Lusk, Liam Boulanger, Rhett Williams, Madison Lusk, Sunny Williams, Luca Boulanger and Noah Corcoran, along with many other family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held November 17, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Services, 186 Shelton Shop Road Stafford, VA. Family visitation will be 11:00-12:00 and the family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00. With his burial to follow at Stafford Memorial Park.
