Tyler’s smile reached his twinkling eyes and his sweet and pure heart touched everyone lucky enough to know him. He may have had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, but he did not let that stop him from having a happy life. He loved SpongeBob SquarePants, his animals and was fascinated by military facts. He was always ready to tell people all about his favorite episodes and the battles and tanks he was interested in. To know Tyler Joe, was to know he loved to talk!
Tyler was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, he was able to attend a game and meet the team. Every game day, he would cheer them on with his Terrible Towel on his lap, wearing one of his many team shirts. During baseball season, you could find him watching his favorite New York Yankees, this time, proudly wearing his Yankee’s gear. He loved the Yankees because it was his Poppy’s favorite team.
Tyler loved to play video games and listen to music, with country being his favorite genre. He was extremely patriotic, proudly volunteering at the National Museum of the Marine Corp. He collected snow globes, challenge coins, Legos, Hess trucks, and stuffed animals which he enjoyed displaying on his bed, choosing a small one to have on his lap while sleeping. Every day he looked forward to texting with people he cared about… feel blessed if you were on his list!
Tyler loved to help. One of his favorite things to do was to mow the lawn. His daddy, his best friend and hero, modified our lawn mower to allow for him to still do this and he took this job very seriously. He loved a fresh haircut, rolling up to momma when he got home from the barber, waiting for her to fuss over him.
Waiting in Heaven for Tyler was his Poppy, Joseph De Santo, and his first pets, Brandy and Mr. Whiskers.
He is survived by his parents, Nicole (Nicki) and Matthew (Matt) Fry; his sister, Madison (Maddie) Fry; his Nanny, Judy De Santo; his Grammy, Carol Fry; his Grampy, John Fry; his Aunt, Shelly De Santo-Lund and Uncle, Kevin Lund; his Aunt, Jackie De Santo; his cherished cousins, Evan & Tristan Allen and Kody Lund, and Blake, Reagan, and Walker Mace, and his beloved pets, Sadie, Franco, and Smokey.
When you think about Tyler, smile through the tears and remember to appreciate the simple things and live a grateful life.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Tyler’s honor and memory.
