William “Pappy” “Battman” Batt, Sr. went to be with Our Lord on July 3, 2016 after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born in Washington, D.C. September 5, 1941 to the late Earle Edwin Batt, Sr. and Ellen Peters Batt. For the last 25 years, Stafford, VA was his home. He was a member of the Photo Engravers Union and the Printers Union. His favorite endeavor was his beloved comic book store, Comic World, which allowed him to touch the lives of many people.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lorna Anne Batt; his son William “Billy” Jackson Batt, Jr. of Richmond, VA; .his daughter Diana Hermelbracht and husband Marlo of Sioux City, IA; his step-daughter Megan Solomon of Richmond, VA; brothers Earle Edwin Batt, Jr. and wife, Ann of Atlantic Beach, NC; Peter Batt of Washington, D.C.; his sister Audrey Lawrence and husband, Sonny of Locust Grove, VA; three grandsons, Brandt, Mathew, and Ryan, his beloved D.J., and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Norman and his brother Calvert Lee Batt, Sr.
