 Obituario de William Francis Bertolasio
William Francis Bertolasio, 93, died of natural causes May 15, 2022, at home with family & friends. He was born on November 2, 1928, in Jerome (Johnstown), Pennsylvania. Bill served in the United States Marine Corps and retired with honors as a Gunnery Sergeant after 21 years of service. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Hampton University and a master’s degree from Virginia Tech. After the military, Bill taught industrial arts and coached track & field at various schools including Garfield High School, Potomac High School, and Graham Park Middle School. He was married to Eleanor (Honey) Anne Ehrhardt for 43 years, who went home to be with the Lord in 1996. He then married EJ Strode and was married another 22 years. Bill was a member of William of York Catholic Church in Stafford, VA & St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Spotsylvania, VA. Bill is a lifetime member of the Marine Corp League and over the years a member of the American Legion. Some of his favorite times included playing poker with family or on the machines in Vegas. He found a love for ballroom dancing after retiring from teaching and we will not forget his fishing trips to Alaska, once sending home a 115lb Halibut. He was predeceased by his wives Eleanor Bertolasio & EJ Bertolasio, son Mark Bertolasio, and three sisters, Roberta, Jeannie, and Nancy. Surviving in addition to his daughters, Nancy Shartzer in Stafford, VA., Mary Johnson in Bradenton, FL and stepdaughter Susie Pecoraro in Gilbert, AZ include: Donny Shartzer, son-in-law, Aubrey Johnson, son-in-law, Larry Pecoraro, son-in-law; Six Grandchildren: Joseph Doolittle & Yvonne in Spotsylvania, VA, Nicholas Doolittle & wife Natalie in Partlow, VA, Erica Plale & husband Mike in Powhatan, VA, Casey Shartzer & wife Debi in Haymarket, VA, Charlotte Conklin & husband Nik in Nolensville, TN, Mikayla Fields & husband Eric, Phoenix, AZ; Ten Great Grandchildren, Elise, AnnMarie, Margaret, Hannah, Jackson, Lydia, Rhys, Ruby, Mikenzie, Kelsey The family will receive friends Friday, June 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford, Virginia followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, Virginia.
