Born December 19, 1929 in Nanticoke, PA, she was the youngest child of
Edward and Susan Levanda.
She graduated as a registered nurse from Wilkes College in 1952, moving to
Stamford in 1953 to work in the premie nursery at the Stamford Hospital.
She was always proud to be a registered nurse.
In 1954, she married Stamford native Mickey (Mike) Grogins, and together,
they raised a beautiful family and built the former Air-Land-Sea Travel.
She was a longtime member of Congregation Agudath Sholom, their Sisterhood,
Couples Club, and Hadassah.
She loved traveling, country music, the New York Mets, and spending time
with her children, grandchildren, and trusted canine companion Bruiser.
She will always be remembered for her compassion, kindness, and love. She
touched so many lives in so many wonderful ways.
She is survived by her loving husband Mike Grogins, her daughter and
son-in-law Saraa and James Adelson of Riverdale, daughter and son-in-law
Deborah and Neil Metviner of Stamford, son David Grogins of Stamford,
grandchildren Amanda and Aaron Metviner and Zachariah Adelson, and sister
Lola Frinsco of Glen-Lyon, PA. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Captain
Edward Levanda, USAF.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 19 at 2:00 pm, at
Congregation Agudath Sholom

Burial will follow at Independence Lodge Cemetery in Darien. Shiva will be
held Sunday through noon on Friday. Please call the synagogue for
