Carl G. Wilkinson

Born in New Haven, CT December 7, l920, he was the son of the late Carl H. and Kathleen D. Wilkinson. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Houde and Anne Teodosio, both of West Haven.

Carl served as an army medic for 3 1/2 years in the Pacific. In 1955 he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Connecticut State University and also received his Master of Science degree in l960. He taught biology at West Haven High School and Gateway Community College in New Haven, retiring in 1987. Carl also worked as a medical laboratory technician at Burt Laboratory, New Haven, and at the Yale-New Haven Hospital.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 71 years, Marie I. Wilkinson, a son Dennis G. Wilkinson (Sherry) of Stamford, 3 grandchildren, Tamara L. Wilkinson of New Canaan, Christopher M. Wilkinson of Haverford, PA , Kimberly Beneville of New York City, four great grandchildren whom he adored, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday May 1 at 11:30 a.m., St. Leo's Church, 24 Roxbury Rd., Stamford. Interment will immediately follow in Fairfield Memorial Park, Stamford. Friends and family may call at the Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford 9 - 11 a.m. on Monday May 1.
