

Dennis Joseph Connors Junior, a devoted husband, brother, stepfather, grandfather, uncle, firefighter, and veteran, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on February 7, 2025. He was 79 years old.
Born on August 3, 1945 in Stamford, CT to parents Dennis Sr. and Lucy (Kocot) Connors, Dennis dedicated his life to service—both to his country and his community. He proudly served in the United States Navy before embarking on a distinguished 37-year career with the Stamford Fire Department. Throughout his years as a firefighter, he was not only a steadfast protector but also a cherished presence in the firehouse, where his culinary talents became legendary among his fellow firefighters.
Beyond his career, Dennis had a deep passion for military antiques and collecting, a reflection of his appreciation for history and service. He was a man of integrity, humor, and generosity, always willing to lend a hand or share a story.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents Dennis Sr. and Lucy (Kocot) Connors.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Linda Connors; his stepson, Dr. Benjamin Freda; his stepdaughter, Robin Gaugliardi; and his grandchildren, Joey and Max Gaugliardi, and Emily, Matthew, and Michael Freda; his sister, Linda (Kenny) Lamb; his niece Lesley (Adam) Leonard and great niece Lucy; his brother Kevin (Nancy) Connors; his niece Erin (Colin) Hynes and great nieces Caroline and Kaylee. His presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial to honor Dennis’s life will be held on Saturday March 8th at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Church Darien, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St.Jude Children's Research Hospital to assist those in their fight to cure cancer.
Dennis lived a life of dedication, courage, and love. His legacy will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and the many lives he touched.
