

Greenwich, CT passed away on
Saturday at the Stamford Hospital in
Stamford, CT. He was 80 years old.
Born in 1934 in Athens, Tennessee, he
was the second son of Jane Smith Huff and A.D. Huff. Having been adopted
upon his mother’s remarriage, his surname became Chambers. His parents,
Jane and James Chambers of Florida predeceased him.
Don attended Indiana University where he studied geology.
Don served in the Navy on the admiral’s fleet for the Commander, Destroyer
Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet USS Yosemite, stationed in Newport, RI from
1955 to 1957.
Don married Lee LaBrecque of New Bedford, MA in 1957 at St. Joseph’s
Parish in New Bedford, MA.
Don worked at Raytheon as a sales engineer in the Special Microwave
Devices Operation for 25 years. After Raytheon, he held jobs as a sales
representative at Cadillac of Norwood and Paul Masse Pontiac-Cadillac of
Woonsocket, RI.
After living in Villa Park, IL, he settled in Bellingham, MA in 1965 and
raised a family on Harper Boulevard. He was formerly of Villa Park, IL.
He was a communicant of St. Blaise Parish.
Predeceased by his wife of 37 years and his brother, Alan, Don is survived
by his three children: Kathryn Kelley of Greenwich, CT; Eric Chambers of
Cumberland, RI; and Curtis Chambers and his wife Marie of Greene, RI;
along with three grandchildren: Meaghan Kelley of Los Angeles, CA, and
Hannah and Emma Kelley of Richmond, VA; as well as numerous family in
Tennessee.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 14th at 9:30AM from
CARTIER’S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126, Bellingham,
MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at St. Brendan’s Church,
384 Hartford Ave., Bellingham, MA. Visiting time from 9:30 to 10:30AM at
the funeral home prior to Mass. Interment Scott Cemetery, Center St.,
Bellingham. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers,
donations in his name may be made to the American Heart Association, the
