It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy "Dot" (Falk) Patterson on October 20, 2024, at the age of 93 in Wilton, Connecticut. Born on December 30, 1930, in Oxford, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Anna T. Falk of Leicester, MA.
Dot graduated from Leicester High School in 1949 and went on to earn her nursing degree from Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. Throughout the 1960s, '70s, and '80s, she worked alongside her husband, Dr. George A. Patterson, in his private practice in Norwalk, CT until his retirement in 1995.
Her love for Dalmatians was a defining feature of her life. Rarely seen without one of her beloved dogs, she cared for many over the years. A longtime Norwalk resident, she found joy in tending to "Holly House," her cherished family home. She also treasured countless trips to their Cape Cod cottage, which held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her devoted husband, George; her two sons, James and Richard; her daughter, Marcia; seven grandchildren—Brandon, Keith, Bryant, Ben, Quinn, Sean, and Hunter—and a great-grandson, Jasper. She was predeceased by her four brothers—Jack, George, Ralph, and Alan—and her sister, Barbara.
Per her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Donations in her memory may be made to your favorite animal rescue organization or the Dalmatian Rescue of Southwest Virginia.
