

Dr. Christian M. Bujdud passed away peacefully on November 4, 2011 with his family by his side. He was born in Torreon, Mexico on March 23, 1924, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Salomon Bujdud. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maureen Linnane Bujdud, two sons Christian W. Bujdud of Easton, CT and Dennis J. Bujdud of Stamford, CT, and daughter Maureen P. Bujdud of Stamford, CT. He is also survived by two sisters Blanche D. Sesma and Alicia Y. Bujdud, two daughters-in-law Joann M. Bujdud and Jessica J. Bujdud and two grandchildren Christian A. Bujdud and Grace C. Bujdud. He was predeceased by his son Michael D. Bujdud, his brother Jorge Bujdud and his sisters Maria Hickman and Emma Zarzar.
Dr. Bujdud received his medical degree at the University of Mexico followed by a residency in pediatrics at the University of Paris Children’s Hospital in France. Returning to the United States he served an internship and residency in pediatrics followed by a residency in chest and allied diseases at Grasslands Hospital (now known as Westchester Medical Center), Valhalla, NY. He moved to Stamford in 1966 at which time he was house physician in the emergency room of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Stamford, CT for the next seven years. He opened his private practice on Strawberry Hill Avenue in 1973. He dedicated his life to caring for his patients both in this office and making house calls on his days off. In 2000 Dr. Bujdud retired to spend time with his family. He enjoyed traveling to France and Mexico and spending his winters in Clearwater Beach, FL.
Dr. Bujdud was a member of the Fairfield County Medical Society, Stamford Medical Society, Charter member of Emergency Room Physicians, Honorary member of the Knights of Columbus St. Augustine Council Number 41.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford.
A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at St. Leo’s Church, 24 Roxbury Road, Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
