Ed was a great guy. I knew him from both the SYC and in business. Only the best. Words can't express how I feel. So young- truly a tragedy. My sincere condolences to the Lenihan clan. God bless Ed who is now sailing in heaven with his maker.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Ed at MetLife - he was smart, witty, and loved a good debate (of which we had many). We shared a love of animals. We were able to reconnect via Facebook. I am shocked and saddened by this loss and I send love & light to his family and all who knew him. It reminds me: Tell someone close to you that you love them. Make sure they know. Safe travels, Ed.

Dear Ed (and Family)

I enjoyed getting reacquainted.  Thank you for sharing your passion of cycling and the N.Y. event.  So I reconnected with a long lost cousin; and, We will ride on June 11th in your memory. Peace and Light.

I am so saddened to hear of Ed's passing.  We spent many years @ Westhill together, and as friends growing up in Shippan.  Reconnecting on FB was such a joy, as we were able to share our love of animals, photos of family, and some pretty fun political debates without taking each other too seriously.  I really enjoyed seeing the photos of his trip to Florida, and so happy that he was able to spend that special time with his Mom.  RIP my friend.

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I always enjoyed talking to Ed when he was at Kate and Steve's house. I will be praying for everyone.

Ed and I have been friends and business associates for 30 years.  I lived in CT and now Colorado and spent time with him in both locations.  We always had great times and my memories of him will always be of a positive, funny, and eclectic person of many interests and talents.  My wife, Edie and I will miss him and our good times together.  Kate, Scott, and Susan, he loved you guys and was always telling us about your times together. Truly a great loss for us all.

My deepest condolences to the Lenihan family. Ed was a special person to his Westhill classmates; he could not be at the last reunion as he was on a special sailing trip with family. Yet he made the time to call several times and was supportive of the 40th reunion.  May he be forever on calm seas and a fair wind at his back. Gone too soon.

I am so sorry to learn of Ed's death.  Having reconnected through FB after many years I enjoyed sharing his travels and thoughtfulness.  My condolences to the family.  While it has been many years since Shippan days I remember Ed's kindness and humor throughout school.

Sending prayers and love from Ocean Village.  We are deeply saddened and shocked by Ed's passing.  So honored that we got to spend time getting to know him by the pool last year and just last month on the pickleball and shufleboard courts. He kept saying how lousy he was playing, yet he nailed both sports.  We nicknamed him "Sandbagger." What a great guy; he will be sorely missed.  Carol & Bob Suckow

Words seem inadequate to describe how deeply sorry we are about Ed's passing. 

"God gave us memories that we may smell roses in winter".  May you be comforted in remembering Ed's zest for life; how he loved to laugh and cause others to laugh with him; and, most importantly, how deeply he loved his family.

My sincere condolences to the Lenihan family.  I had the pleasure of working with Ed on the Stamford YC Junior Sailing Committee.  His dedication to the club and teaching sailing to young people was quite admirable.

So sorry to hear about Ed. He was always full of laughter and good cheer.  Gone too soon. My family sends their condolences to his whole family.

I will always cherish the special trip we made in the late fall over 20 years ago sailing his boat from Newport to Stamford.
