Stamford, CT after suffering from Alzheimer's. Born on April 11, 1932 in Vicksburg, MS,
she was the daughter of Louis Leyens and Carolyn Lob Leyens. She is survived by
her husband of 68 years, Frederick Goldstein, her three children, Dana Eve Greenspan,
husband Stan, of Ft. Washington, PA, Peter Bron Goldstein of Denver, CO, and Joanna
Novins, husband Peter, of Southport, CT., and seven grandchildren, Daniel Greenspan,
Steven Greenspan, Michelle Greenspan Nelson (Ryan), Caleb Novins, Aidan Novins,
Seth Goldstein, and Blake Goldstein.
Edwen moved with her husband to Stamford in 1960 and was active in the community
as a member of the League of Women Voters, serving on the downtown planning
commission, President of Family and Children Services of Stamford and merging it with
Family Centers of Greenwich, then serving on the board. Edwen was elected to a term
as secretary and board member of Temple Sinai where she was a member for many
years. She also was a docent at the Whitney Museum branch in Stamford, a member
of Reading Partners, and was an art agent serving private clients and businesses.
She was a proud graduate of the Class of 1954 of Smith College and was on the board
of the Smith Club of Greenwich Stamford for many years. Having majored in art history,
art was a most important part of her life. She was a gifted portrait painter.
Funeral services are to be held at Temple Beth El with burial at Temple Beth El
Cemetery.
