

Gloria was born in Stamford to Thomas McManus and Olive (Cooke) McManus on May, 20, 1936. She attended Stamford Public Schools. She married Theodore (Ted) Boccuzzi on January 7, 1961 in Stamford, CT. She was a former member of the Junior Women’s Club of Stamford and was a former volunteer for Meals On Wheels. In her early years, she worked as a Dental Assistant and in other bookkeeping positions in Stamford. In 1979, Gloria and her beloved husband Ted founded Advanced Distribution Systems, Inc. She was a consistent driving force in the business’ success.
While engaged to Ted, she was voted both the Delta Upsilon Fraternity Sweetheart and the US Army Seoul Area Command Service Sweetheart.
Gloria’s passion was her family. She was a caregiver to many loved ones.
Gloria fiercely battled heart disease since the age of 55. Her fight to live to experience her grandchildren’s lives was legendary. She rarely missed a sports event, school event or dance recital and referred to herself as a “hockey grandma”.
Her smile and happy personality was what made her stand out to friends and family. Everyone knew her and loved her both around town and in the neighborhood.
She enjoyed bowling, skiing, tennis and golf along with her love of Cape Cod and the ocean.
Gloria was preceded in death by her brother Richard McManus and her parents.
Gloria passed 2 weeks prior to her husband Ted.
She is survived by daughters, Patti Taccone and Nancy Carnavalla, sons-in-law, Marc Taccone, James Carnavalla, and grandchildren Brian, Jamie, Jacalyn, Michael and Nicholas.
Funeral services for Gloria and Ted will be held, 10:30, February 5, 2022, St. Cecilia Church, Stamford, CT with Fr. Richard Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Darien, CT.
