Helen Ryba Baum died October 21, at Stamford Hospital. She was 80 years old.
Helen was born January 11, 1932 in Stamford, daughter of the late Michael A. Ryba and Helen Wissman Ryba . She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur H. Baum.
She retired from Union Trust Company as vice president for community relations, public relations and legislative affairs. Helen was very proud to be a Justice of the Peace, and took great joy in performing the wedding ceremonies. Mrs. Baum was a very active member of the community. Among her many volunteer endeavors; she used her public relations talent and experience in Republican campaigns and with the United Way. She also involved with many other community organizations.
She is survived by her brother, Michael G. Ryba, his wife, Joyce W. of Brookfield; nieces Elayne J. Ryba, (Richard Nadeau), and Nancy J. Ryba, (Donald Groeschner) and nephew, Kenneth M. Ryba(Marilyn) and great nieces , nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be 4-8PM Friday, October 26 at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home located at 2900 Summer St., Stamford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM, Saturday, October 27 at the Holy Name of Jesus Church on 325 Washington Blvd in Stamford. Burial will be private.
