John P. Clarke Sr.

He was born on September 9, 1937 to the late Cleon Clarke and Beatrice Elizabeth Dearing in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies. He retired after 13½ years from the Jamaica Defense Force to come to the United States in the 70s. He lived in Stamford, before moving to Florida and then to Bridgeport. He worked at Stamford Hospital and Baptist Hospital in Florida. He retired from Stamford Hospital. He is survived by 5 children, John Clarke, Jr., Norwalk, Sandra Clarke, Bridgeport, Andrea Clarke, Norwalk, Carol Clarke, Greenville, N.C., and Ron Clarke, New Haven; grandchildren, Joel Clarke Salmon, David Clarke Guy, Ron Clarke, Jr., Timothy Harrison, Jr., Sha'Tel Clarke, Brittany Clarke, Te'iara Harrison, Ebony Clarke, Kevin Harrison, Andre Clarke, Shaniya Clarke; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren. Predeceased before him was his father; Cleon Clarke, mother; Beatrice Elizabeth Dearing, ex-wife; Carmen Ludy Clarke, brothers; Nathan V. Hylton, Clinton Clarke, Neville Smith, Barry Smith and, one sister; Cathleen Clarke Thompson. Friends may call on Monday, October 29th from 9:30am-11:00am at St. John's Episcopal Church, 628 Main Street, Stamford. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am.
