

Judith Landau, 76, of Stamford Connecticut, died peacefully surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 17, 2011. Born on June 20, 1935 to Jay and Betty Brownstein, Judith was the third generation to reside in Stamford, Ct. Judy graduated from Stamford High School in 1953. She was the devoted wife of the late Judge Sidney S. Landau, whom she met while attending Alfred University in Upstate New York. Sid and Judy married shortly after their graduation and settled in Stamford where they raised their three daughters. Judy completed her graduate studies in library sciences at Columbia University. She worked as a teacher in the Stamford Public School system, as a librarian and concluded her career as Director of the Senior Adult Program at the Stamford Jewish Center, where she was honored for establishing the POSH program (Providers of Senior Happiness). Judy and Sid retired to Siesta Key, Fla., where Judy continued to actively support the ballet and music programs she loved so dearly. Judy is survived by her three daughters: Cara Beth Levison, Deena Landau-Graber and Dr. Amy Sue Landau; her two son-in-laws: Howard R. Graber and Gary Levinson; her beloved four grandchildren: Rachel Elise Graber, Sarah Rose Graber, Genna Ashley Levison, Hank Benjamin Levison; and her brother, Rabbi Marc Brownstein.
Grave side service will be held at the Temple Beth El Cemetery 350 Roxbury Rd. Stamford, CT 06902 on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 promptly at 1:00 p.m. Shiva will be held at the home of Howard and Deena Graber through Thursday evening.
