

Julius was born in Germany to Johann and Eleanore Arnold on September 7th, 1926. He immigrated to the United States in 1957 and he resided most of his life in Warren, NJ. He married Helga née Schnabel on March 28, 1958 in East Orange, NJ. He started Arnold Furniture Manufacturers, Inc., a wood office furniture manufacturing business with his cousin Edward in 1963 in Irvington, NJ. It was a successful factory for high end conference tables, desks, bookcases and many custom office designs. Their products are placed in high profile offices and businesses nationwide. A tribute to their style of business was that the employees worked for Arnold Furniture for decades. He ran a family business.
Julius was actively involved in breeding, raising and racing homing pigeons. His hobby started as a young teen and lasted into his 80’s. Julius won many races receiving dozens of trophies and awards. Through this sport he collected many friends at the Queen City Pigeon Club and the Bound Brook Pigeon Club.
He was also a member of the Swim and Sport Club in Flanders, NJ a German American club where he played fist ball in his younger years.
Since 2015 Julius and Helga resided in Stamford, CT.
Julius is preceded in death by his parents, brother Edmund and his cousin Edward and Edward’s wife Ursula.
Julius is survived by his loving and devoted wife Helga, his children Ina (Jim) and Glenn (Barbara), his grandchildren Courtney (Stephen), Krista (Kostantinos), Jamey, Glenn Jr. and 4 great grandchildren Eleanor, Abigail, Madeleine and Peter.
His family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 3pm-7pm at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, CT. A service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 9th at 10am with Fr. Luke Suarez.
The family of (Julius) wishes to extend our sincere thanks to his special caregivers/angels over the last four years. They gave him such tender loving support and care. Thank you to Yaritza, Amparo, Yolanda, Norma, Shirley and Sally. Also, special thanks to the hospice team in the last two weeks of his life.
