I met Lauren 20 years ago when I was a drug rep toting bagels. She became one of my closest friends even after I moved away to Hong Kong in 1993. Lauren had the most gorgeous soul and vivacious spirit. I just found out about her passing and I am devastated that I never got to see her again. Elena and Luke you wont remember me but I met you both when you were babies. I am sending you my love and deepest sympathies.

A program on public television brought back memories when my husband and I met up with Lauren and her father, Tom, in front of the Monterey Bay Aquarium many years ago. I was so sorry and shocked to learn of Dr. Pueraro's death.  I have always admired her at the way she treated her patients, myself included.  As an RN at Stamford Hospital I had the honor of working with her in the L&D OR, but also had her personal touch as she was present for my deliveries and then my mastectomy.  She was the consumate professional with a loving and caring spirit.  She will truly be missed by all of us at TSH.

I feel as if I knew Lauren.  I heard so many loving stories about Lauren from her dear friend and colleague Denise. Tears and sorrow seem endless, but it is Lauren's love and laughter that will endure.  Samarpana

I am so sorry to hear about Lauren.   Luke, Alana and all of her family.... please know that I will pray for you.   Lauren helped me in a very difficult time of need.   She offered advice and never judged me.   I will be forever grateful for all the time she listened to me and let me just ramble on about my situation.  She never said... "I'm too busy for you" instead she listened and allowed me to hear myself speak.  She didn't need to figure my life out... she let me do it myself.  Thank you Lauren!

I will miss Lauren.  In May of 2008, I had a colonoscopy at the Tully Center here in Stamford.  While I was in the staging area waiting my turn for the procedure, I heard this voice yell out…”hey Tamborrino”.  Lauren walked in.  It hadn’t dawned on me that she could’ve been assigned as the anesthesiologist.  She couldn’t have been more professional, or more supportive.  We joked and kidded around until I went under and she came to see me when I awoke.  That was Lauren, always there to help out.  It’s so tragic that she left us so quickly and much too young :(

Lauren was not only a true best friend of my wife, but a friend of our family. The memories she left behind are many; and she will be dearly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

We have missed her greatly in yoga class. Her efforts were valiant and she had the courage of a warrior but the heart of a kitten.  She brought such comfort and care to others, little did we know of her personal struggle with this terrible disease. I speak for all of our class that she will be missed and prayed for.  We send blessings and wishes for peace to her children, parents and to Trent. 
Our Father now holds her in the palm of his hands. 
I brought her a blessed cross and stones from my pilgrimage to Medjurgorje, she said that I had no idea how important the timing of that gift was.....I really had no idea either...she was the picture of health.

I met Lauren when I was a young, troubled 10 year old girl.  Lauren was studying here in Buffalo the day I ran into her beloved mutt 'Benni' with my banana seat bicycle.  Benni didn't know it then, but his "hyper-always on the run" style forged a life-long friendship & bond between Lauren's family and ours.  Lauren recognized I was girl in pain, a girl trying to find her way through her abuse and fear.  She took me right under her wing.  She was the cool big sister I never had.  I spent countless hours/days in her apartment situated next to my home.  I spent all my time trying on all her 'cool, trendy' clothes/shoes.  Wearing her jewerly and make-up.  She would put down her studies to fix my hair, or select a pair of shoes to match the oversized dress I was wearing.  We would dance to David Bowie and snuggle in bed with Benni.  I'm 38 now, with children of my own, and I find myself going back to these times when I'm having fun with my own girls.  These are memories that I will cherish always.  I will always hear her laughter, I will always see her smile.  I will always remember the hugs and kisses she would give when my confidence was low, or I was being bullied by friends.  I know Benni and her father Tom are happy to have her, but I am sure sad to see her go.  I love you Lauren and Thank You from the bottom of my heart for changing my course in life.

What a wonderful, caring, loving Doctor & friend. She helped me so much thru my cancer and yet I couldnt do anything for her!!! You are so sadly missed but you will NEVER be forgotten.   You touched so many peoples hearts and your memories will always keep us going. May your childern find the comfort they need in the love you gave to all, may they feel that back in return.  You are in the hands of god now and you will work your mircles in haven.
