

Lorraine at the age of 18 was a talented dancer who toured with the USO in New England during World War 2 entertaining the troops. She worked as a telephone operator for the Bell System prior to marriage. She worked at Gimbels in Stamford from 1972 until her retirement in 1992.
Lorraine loved her home, her family and her garden. Lorraine was also very proud of her French-Canadian heritage. Descended from one of Quebec ’s first families, she spent considerable time researching her family’s genealogy. She was married in 1948 to Joseph P Martin, her high school sweetheart, who survives her. They were married for 64 happy years. She is survived by her children, Michele Martin Dougherty (Mark Dougherty) of Nahant, Massachusetts, Joseph Martin Jr (Mary Karen Brawn) of Wildwood, Missouri their children Eleanor Martin, Daniel Martin. Thomas Martin (Martha Martin) of Stratford, Connecticut their children Angela Martin Gonzales – (Peter Gonzales) Pamela Martin, Chelsea Martin, Alexander Martin, and Terrence Martin – (Laura Casale) Martin of Stamford, Connecticut their children Michael Martin Melissa Martin. She is also survived by her Brother Gerard Levesque – Wife Claire Levesque of Salem Massachusetts.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday June 11, 2012 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church 37, Schuyler Ave Stamford, CT 06905. Family and friends may call the Leo P.
