Mrs. Maria Teresa Guerrero died peacefully on Monday September 27 at home. The cause was cancer. She was 81. A long-time resident of Stamford, Mrs. Guerrero was born in Ecuador. She moved to Stamford with her family 40 years ago. Through courage, hard work and determination, she and her late husband, Mr. Ricardo Guerrero, carved a future for their children. Mrs. Guerrero enriched the lives of all who knew her. She was charitable, industrious, honorable and loyal. Always ready to lend a helping hand and a smile. Mrs. Guerrero was predeceased in 2007 by her husband of 60 years, Mr. Ricardo Guerrero. Mrs. Maria Teresa Guerrero is survived by three daughters, Elvia DeLitta, XImena Iparraguirre and Elaine Voss; a son, Raul; 5 grandchildren, José, Raul, Sebastian, Nicholas and Victoria; 2 great-grandchildren, Antonio and Juliana; and 5 siblings Esperanza, Piedad, Lila, Jorge and Raquel. Friends may visit Thursday 6-9 pm at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT. A memorial service will be held Friday October 1st, 12:00 pm, at Saint Mary’s Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, Ct.
