
Marlene T. Lappots passed away peacefully on 20th of October 2014. A citizen and long time resident of Stamford, Connecticut, Marlene was born on May 1, 1965 to Olive Dennis and the late Levi Dennis in Kingston, Jamaica. In her early years, Marlene attended and graduated from Stamford High School. In high school, she worked at Robert Weiss & Co., as well as volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital. Marlene attended the University of New Haven, after high school, where she earned a Bachelor Degree of Computer Science. Due to her extensive knowledge of insurance, Marlene continued her employment with Robert Weiss & Co. for over 10 years, as a successful Agent. Later she opened R & M Insurance in Stamford, which she operated for 18 years, up until her passing. Marlene also helped her mother manage the family business, Caribbean Bakery and Mini Mart in downtown Stamford. Marlene was an active member of Bethany Church and volunteered her services at different organizations. She is survived by her son, Ryan and daughter, Reyana Lappots; Sister, Marva; Brothers, Devon, Carlton and was predeceased by her brother Cyvon. She also leaves a long host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Marlene has left a positive impact on this earth and will be sorely missed and held forever in our hearts.
Calling hours are 6 - 8 PM on Tuesday, Oct. 28th at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT. Church Service will be held Wednesday 29th at 10:00am at Bethany Church, 2 Scofieldtown Rd, Stamford, CT 06903. A graveside service will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 Hecker Avenue, Darien, CT 06820 immediately following the church service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to Bethany Church.
