Michele Manne

Michele ( Michline) Manne passed away peacefully in Stamford, CT on December 23, 2017, she was 97. Her husband Carl S. Manne predeceased her. She is survived by her two children, Carol Manne of Yarmouth Port, MA and Gary Manne of Weston, CT and Nassau, Bahamas. Her grandchildren, Gamon Manne of Baton Rouge, Louisiana , Garrison Manne of Norwalk, CT and Greer Manne of Weston, CT and two great grandchildren, Alston and Guidry Manne of Baton Rouge.

Michele was born an only child to Albert and Helen Guitman in Kiev, Russia on August 11, 1920. She was brought up in Paris, France and attended the University of Sorbonne. Michele moved to the USA in 1945 where she attended Hofstra University and earned her Bachelors and Master’s degrees in French Literature and Humanities. She taught French in Westbury, NY, the North and South Shores of Long Island and Stamford, CT for 35 years.

She was a model and loved showing her Shih Tzu dogs that won many medals. She was an avid horseback rider and traveler, an active runner and won 100’s of medals. She also loved to dress to the nines. Michele will always be remembered for her kind heart, gentle smile, quiet strength and determination and deep love for her children, family, friends and all of her devoted students.
